MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continues with CD Águila hosting CD Hércules in Group D on Tuesday at Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador, El Salvador.
The all-Salvadoran encounter pits two sides seeking their first points of the campaign.
Águila will play its second match of the campaign after falling 3-nil at CSD Xelajú MC last Wednesday. Mauro Caballero led the side with four shots, three inside the box, in the defeat.
Hércules will seek to end a two-match losing streak in the competition after falling to Xelajú and CD Olimpia in its first two encounters. The team will participate in its first away test of the campaign, although it won’t have to travel far, as it seeks to keep its qualification hopes alive.
All-Time series
CD Águila and CD Hércules will face each other for the first time in a Concacaf club tournament.
CD Águila has faced Salvadoran opponents 14 times in international tournaments—once in the Concacaf Champions Cup and 13 times in the Central American Fraternity Cup—with an overall record of 9 wins, 1 draw, and 4 losses (W-9 D-1 L-4). The last time CD Águila played a club from its own country was in 1983, when they defeated Atlético Marte 1-0 on Matchday 2 of Group C in the Central American Fraternity Cup.
CD Águila has not played against a club from its own league in an international tournament since that 1-0 win over Atlético Marte in the 1983 Central American Fraternity Cup.
For CD Hércules, this will be their third match in the history of the Central American Cup. They made their debut with a 0-2 loss to Xelajú MC and a 1-3 defeat to CD Olimpia, both at home.
