SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with CD Águila and CD Olimpia playing to a 2-2 draw in Group D on Tuesday at Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Darwin Cerén opened the scoring in the 30’ with a right-footed shot from the edge of the box to place Águila in front.

Jerry Bengtson equalized for Olimpia in the 39’ by striking near the left post to capitalize off a throw-in.

Mauro Caballero placed the hosts back in the lead in the 71’ with a slight touch at the near post to redirect a corner kick service from Joel Turcios.

Jorge Benguché put the match back on level terms in the 79’ with a powerful right-footed strike from the right side of the box.

The two sides gained a point from the result, securing a place in the Quarterfinals for group leaders CSD Xelajú MC. Olimpia improved to seven points to remain in second place, while Águila improved to four points to follow in third place.

Both clubs will strive for a top two finish when they conclude their Group Stage participation next Wednesday, as Águila visits Real Estelí FC and CD Olimpia hosts Xelajú.
