Agent of Inter Milan starlet Francesco Pio Esposito has confirmed that Atalanta requested his client as part of a deal for Ademola Lookman.
Speaking to Radio CRC via FCInterNews, Mario Giuffredi also revealed that Inter had rejected a mammoth offer for the young talent.
Francesco Pio Esposito is a star in the making.
Indeed, after a stellar breakout season at Spezia, the 20-year-old is ready to prove his worth at San Siro.
After netting 19 goals in Serie B last term, Esposito returns to Inter seeking regular first-team action.
Furthermore, new boss Cristian Chivu has already unveiled his intention to hand the youngster a prominent role next season.
Therefore, Inter took the striker off the market at the start of the summer.
However, several clubs didn’t seem to get the message, as they tried to purchase one of Italy’s most exciting talents.
Yet, their offers fell on Inter’s deaf ears.

“Inter are well aware of his value, to the point that they rejected offers worth €50 million,” Giuffredi stated.
On the other hand, Atalanta had tried to force Inter to include Esposito as part of a deal for Ademola Lookman.
However, Chivu’s men immediately turned them down.
“Atalanta proposed a swap deal involving Lookman for Pio Esposito,” Giuffredi added.
“The Lookman deal doesn’t conflict with Pio Esposito, as he has different characteristics from the Atalanta player.
“I don’t know exactly what Inter’s coach has in mind.
“However, I’m sure Cristian Chivu will give Pio Esposito playing time because he knows him very well.”
Unlike Francesco Pio, his brother Sebastiano will likely leave Inter in the coming weeks.
Indeed, the Serie A giants have put the 23-year-old up for sale as they aim to raise funds for Lookman.
