With essentially every agent across Europe well aware that Manchester United are in the market for a centre-forward this summer, the club are being offered potential signings.

Indeed, the Red Devils have just been on the receiving end of an early-window blow after being rejected by Liam Delap, who has opted for a move to Chelsea over his handful of Premier League suitors.

United remain firm admirers of prolific frontman Viktor Gyokeres. However, as was the case with Delap, their failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League could well deter the Sporting Lisbon talisman from an Old Trafford move.

INEOS approached by Tammy Abraham’s camp

Now, according to TBR Football, INEOS chiefs have been contacted by the agent of a former Chelsea star in the form of Tammy Abraham.

His representatives have ‘approached’ United, along with the likes of Everton, West Ham and Newcastle United, with the 27-year-old seemingly sizing up a return to England after four years in Italy.

How Abraham has fared since his Chelsea exit

Abraham departed the Blues in 2021, severing his 17-year ties with his boyhood club when making the move to Roma. He left after being crowned a Champions League winner following Chelsea’s triumph over Manchester City in the 2020/2021 final in a deal thought to be in the region of £34 million.

Before joining AC Milan on loan last summer, Abraham made 120 appearances for Roma, scoring 37 goals and assisting a further 17. He has struggled to find his most prolific goalscoring form in Milan, though, and has notched 10 goals and seven assists in 44 matches.

Milan reportedly have no desire to extend his stay when his temporary terms expire at the end of June, meaning he will return to his parent club – where he is tied down to a contract until 2027 – before pre-season gets underway.

Nonetheless, it’s safe to say Abraham is unlikely to be the kind of player United would go for as they prepare for a significant overhaul.
