Superagent Jorge Mendes recently met with Barcelona president Joan Laporta over dinner, using the opportunity to discuss the future of the highly-rated youngster.

The new contract, which is expected to run until June 30, 2030, was initially set to double his salary. However, given his rapid development and the crucial role he now plays in the squad, that increase is now viewed as insufficient.

Barcelona recognise that Yamal’s contribution on the pitch has exceeded initial expectations, and they are prepared to adjust his salary accordingly to reflect his value to the team.

Additionally, the recent transfer of Vitor Roque has strengthened Barcelona’s financial position, providing them with greater flexibility in handling contract renewals.
