Adrien Rabiot and mother Véronique file fresh legal claim against PSG over insults and banners | OneFootball

Adrien Rabiot (29) and his mother and long-time advisor Véronique have filed legal action against Paris Saint-Germain following their return to the Parc des Princes with Marseille on 16th March. According to Le Parisien, the pair are suing PSG for their alleged failure to manage abusive banners and insults from supporters during the Classique clash.The case has been brought before the Paris judicial court, with both Rabiot and his mother demanding €15,000 in damages. However, their primary goal is not financial – they want the court to acknowledge what they perceive as a serious failure in PSG’s handling of fan conduct, particularly regarding the club’s responsibility to ensure security and appropriate behaviour in the stands.During Rabiot’s first at the Parc as an opposition player since leaving PSG in 2019 – numerous derogatory chants and banners targeting the France international and his mother were visible in the Auteuil end. Although the LFP handed PSG a €20,000 fine and a one-match partial stand closure in early April, the Rabiots argue these sanctions are insufficient.

Represented by lawyer Me Romuald Palao, they accuse PSG of failing in its duty to police the stands, which resulted in personal harm. A first hearing is set for November 4th, although it may be postponed depending on how PSG respond.

This comes just days after Rabiot won a separate legal battle against PSG regarding the nature of his former contracts. The Paris industrial tribunal reclassified his professional player contracts as permanent (CDI), ordering PSG to pay €1.3 million in compensation.GFFN | George Boxall
