With three goals in his last two games, Adam Idah is in impressive form as the Bhoys prepare to return to Paradise.

And after playing his part in a huge victory over Young Boys of Bern the last time Brendan’s Rodgers’ side took to the Celtic Park pitch, the Irish forward is aiming to maintain that goalscoring run as they take on Dundee on Wednesday evening.

With 11 goals to his name already this season, the Celtic number nine has found his feet with the Hoops once more, having returned during the summer transfer window.

And after taking up the starting mantle in recent games, the forward is eyeing more memorable goals in green and white following an impressive double last week against Aston Villa.

Speaking to the media ahead of Wednesday night's match against Dundee, the 23-year-old insisted it is exciting times for this Celtic squad, with some huge games on the horizon.

He said: “It’s nice for me to have a lot more game-time on my hands. We’ve got a really strong squad and plenty of young strikers in the group who can do a job.

“We’ve seen Johnny Kenny, and back in Ireland he was flying. We’ve got plenty of options in the squad and we have strengthened the group with Jota coming back and Jeff coming in now.

“It’s exciting for me. It’s what I wanted. It’s why I came to Celtic in the first place. I’ve come back again in the summer, and I’ve got a big responsibility to take and I’m ready to take that.

'When you're playing football, you want to play as many minutes as you can. I’m ready to take that role now.'

"With this squad, it’s all about the team. We have a great squad.

“At the end of the day, we all want the same thing and that is to win as many trophies and titles as we can.

“It’s exciting times, and hopefully I can carry on this goalscoring form that I have been doing.”

Of course, finding the net as a striker is part of Idah’s role. However, it wouldn’t be possible without those around him for the number nine to find the net.

With the additions of Jota and Jeffrey Schlupp during the January transfer window, the new Celtic duo are two players who Idah is more than aware of.

Having faced Schlupp during his time south of the border and getting his first taste of playing alongside Jota last Sunday against Motherwell, the Republic of Ireland internationalist is now looking forward to playing alongside his new team-mates on a regular basis.

“I haven’t played much with Jota yet,” he said, "but I’ve seen him plenty of times before. He is a player that will obviously produce a lot.

“The same goes for Jeff Schlupp. I’ve played against him back down in England, and he is a fantastic player.

“I think we’ve all seen videos and the goals that he's scored. I’m really excited to play with both of them, to be honest.

‘It will be a great for me as a player, and it will be a great chance to get to play with them.’

“I think I played against Jeffery on my debut, and he was unbelievable. We’ve got the same agent, so I know a lot about him.

“From a young age, I knew he was a top player, and from hearing from other players, they seem to say the same thing. So I’m really excited to play with him.”
