Christian Pulisic is relishing the opportunity to face Liverpool as AC Milan kick off their 2024-25 Champions League campaign.
The USMNT forward is set to form part of Milan's front three for this season's European opener at San Siro, having bagged a goal and an assist in their 4-0 win over Venezia on Saturday.
Pulisic was a key contributor in the game and is delighted with the confidence boost the victory gives Paulo Fonseca's side heading into the huge clash with Liverpool.
"It was a great start for us," Pulisic told DAZN after the convincing Serie A victory. "To get a win like this, with four goals and a clean sheet. We have to continue like this and build on this win."
The American knows that his side will not have it so easy on Tuesday when they take on the Reds, but admitted that Milan are 'lucky' they do not have to travel to Anfield to face Liverpool thanks to the new structure of the Champions League.
Each team now has to play one team home and away from each pot, meaning each fixture is a one-off tie with no return visits until the knockout stage.
Pulisic is glad that Milan have been awarded a home game with Liverpool, but admits that the match will be challenging even with the game played at San Siro.
"It’s the first Champions League game against a great team, and it’s obviously a great challenge," Pulisic admitted.
"We are lucky to play at home. Hopefully, we can play well and get the result."
