Marco Asensio has no future at PSG after the club allowed him to leave on loan to Aston Villa during the winter transfer window. Despite a productive stint in the Premier League, Aston Villa chose not to keep him beyond the loan.

The 29-year-old Spain international scored eight goals and added one assist in 21 appearances for the English side. He remains under contract with PSG through June 2026.

According to L’Équipe, Asensio initially rejected a €15 million move to Fenerbahçe. While PSG accepted the offer, which included performance-related bonuses, he is not interested in moving to the Turkish Süper Lig. Instead, he’s waiting to evaluate all his market options, with AC Milan now exploring a possible deal.

Despite their limited financial flexibility, Milan opened talks with PSG and reached an agreement. Villarreal have also expressed interest, but the La Liga side may not be able to afford the move.

After Asensio rejected Fenerbahçe, the Turkish side returned with a better contract for the player and journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reports that Fenerbahçe have increased their salary offer to Asensio to around €10 million to €11 million, and the player has agreed to the terms.

The Turkish club have also reached an agreement with PSG on a transfer fee of approximately €15 million. As a result, it appears that this transfer will proceed.

On Wednesday, CaughtOffside reported that Inter Milan are looking into the possible signing of Asensio this summer, with the veteran midfielder being tempted by the move.

The growing interest in Asensio likely pushed Fenerbahçe to come back with an improved contract offer that met the player’s demands. Now, it looks like the former Real Madrid star is set for a move to Turkey.
