It's now official: Ismaël Bennacer will not be playing in any of Europe's top five leagues this season. Despite strong rumors linking the Algerian international with a return to Olympique de Marseille his next destination appears to be Turkey.
According to the latest updates from transfer specialist Nicolo Schira, AC Milan has agreed to loan the 27-year-old midfielder to Trabzonspor. However, Bennacer's future remains uncertain. While negotiations are advancing and the Turkish club is prepared to cover his full salary, the player himself is hesitant.
Bennacer's primary concern is staying within Europe’s elite leagues, making a move to the Turkish Süper Lig an unattractive prospect in his eyes. Although the transfer window in Turkey remains open until September 12—giving Trabzonspor more time to persuade him—the midfielder’s reluctance is making the deal increasingly unlikely. Ultimately, the final decision rests entirely in Bennacer’s hands.
