‘A top, top, top player’ – Xabi Alonso heaps praise on Real Madrid star | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has this week moved to lavish praise on a summer addition to his squad in Spain’s capital.

The player in question? Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Defender Alexander-Arnold was of course at last presented as a Real Madrid player in front of the media last month.

This brought to a close a saga spanning a full year, in the approach to the expiration of the Englishman’s contract terms with Liverpool.

And if the latest comments on the part of the aforementioned Xabi Alonso are anything to go by, then TAA appears to have wasted little time in making his presence felt…

Real Madrid’s headmaster took his place in front of the media in the early hours of Tuesday, ahead of his side’s upcoming Club World Cup showdown with Juventus.

And drawn on Alexander-Arnold’s talents, Alonso went on to wax lyrical about the 26-year-old:

“Trent can play in different systems. He’s adapting quickly, we’re very happy with him. He’s a top, top, top, top player.”
