James McAtee needs to find a club where he will be allowed to play on a regular basis. He will not get that chance at Manchester City. That has been clear for some time now. What McAtee needs is to be at a club that can provide him with a prominent role to play. That is the next step for McAtee in his career. He was a squad player for City last season. McAtee only made 27 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side last season. In most of those appearances he came on as a substitute. McAtee did score 7 goals last season, but as City struggled last season, he arguably should have played more often. But that didn’t occur now he looks set to leave City in the coming weeks.

Looking at where James McAtee could play and thrive next season perhaps Eintracht Frankfurt could be the ideal club for him. Eintracht Frankfurt regularly contend for European football in the Bundesliga and they have a good track record of developing young players. That’s the type of environment that would be perfect for McAtee. So it does appear to be a sound move for him to consider a move to Eintracht Frankfurt.
