50 Lazio Fans Detained by German Police & Banned From Attending Europa League Clash

A group of Lazio fans will be banned from entering the Volksparkstadion Stadium and supporting their club in the Europa League contest against Dynamo Kyiv.

Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, the encounter was moved to the Volksparkstadion Stadium in Hamburg. Therefore, hundreds of Biancocelesti supporters travelled to Germany to attend the European clash, but some of them were prevented from doing so by the German police who found some offensive objects in their acquisition.

The Italian club released a statement on its official website confirming that the police detained a group of Lazio fans who will be banned from attending the match, but denies rumours of arrests.

The management urges all Lazio supporters to follow the rules and instructions given by the club to avoid any other mishaps during their time in Hamburg.

In relation to the news circulating in the press, it has been reported that last night a control operation was carried out on a group of individuals present in the city center. During the search, offensive objects were found. The group was detained by the police and banned from entering the stadium. No arrests were made. Lazio fans are invited to follow the information already provided by the Club to reach the Hamburg stadium in safe conditions.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà reveals the number of banned supporters is around 50. On a related note, La Lazio Siamo (via LazioSpace) reports that around 850 tickets were sold to Biancocelesti fans in the away sector.
