One of the players with the most minutes played at Chivas

El Jamaicón' Villegas became the player with the second most minutes played in the history of Chivas, accumulating 38,332 in 432 league games played.

In recognition of his legacy with the Rebaño Sagrado, he received the Galardón Rojiblanco Award during an emotional ceremony at the Akron Stadium, held at Chivas against Rayados, corresponding to Day 4 of the Clausura 2018.

One of the club's most winning players

With 18 official titles, he became one of the winningest players in the history of the Rojiblanco club. He stood out for being a fundamental piece in the Campeonísimo era, actively participating in the conquest of 8 league championships, consolidating himself as one of the pillars of a historic generation.

The Rojiblanco center back was a two-time World Cup player, as he played in the 1958 Sweden and 1962 Chile World Cups, standing out for his talent and strength in the defensive line.

He also had international exposure with Chivas, as he played a friendly against Botafogo of Brazil. That day went down in the history books, as Villegas stood out for his impeccable marking against Garrincha, one of the great references of soccer at that time.
