Chris Davies has outlined Blues' plans for the remainder of the transfer window.

Chris Davies has outlined Birmingham City's transfer plans for the remainder of the summer window, revealing that some of his squad could still depart St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park between now and 7pm on 1 September.

The 40-year-old Blues boss has overseen yet another major squad reshuffle as the club look to assemble a squad immediately capable of challenging for promotion in the Championship, and end a lengthy absence from the Premier League.

This has seen plenty of eye-catching additions, including the likes of Demarai Gray, Kyogo Furuhashi, Marvin Ducksch, Tommy Doyle and Bright Osayi-Samuel among others, but has also seen the West Midlands club bid farewell to the likes of former captain Krystian Bielik, Alfie May and Ayumu Yokoyama, with the latter two only joining the club last summer.

Due to the sheer quality and depth in several areas at Davies' disposal, some who are still currently on the books have already seen their gametime significantly reduced, or are likely too in the coming weeks and months when new signings get up to speed.

With that being said, Football League World has listed three players who could potentially be heading for a West Midlands departure in the next week or so as a result of Davies' plans, which were revealed by local reporter, Tom Ross.

Marc Leonard

Marc Leonard is a player with immense potential, and given his current predicament with Blues, the 23-year-old may look for a move elsewhere in a bid for regular gametime.

The deep-lying midfielder's transfer from Brighton last summer was seen as a major coup, yet the Scot only featured 14 times in League One from the starting lineup but continuously drew praise when selected for his technical ability mixed with great off-the-ball tenacity.

However, despite once again being named on the bench in the Championship, Davies didn't opt to utilise his services in the first two games of the season in cagey affairs against Ipswich Town and Blackburn Rovers.

That was just weeks after it was reported that he could follow the aforementioned May to Huddersfield as well as having interest from sides in the MLS, with Blues also said to be open to a departure.

This is the harsh reality of how quickly Birmingham's squad is progressing, as Leonard could easily rip it up for another club in the middle of the park.

Lyndon Dykes

Another recruit from Davies' first-ever transfer window at St Andrew's whose days could be numbered is Lyndon Dykes, although the Scotland international could have given Bluenoses a great parting gift if said scenario is to play out.

The experienced frontman also struggled for regular minutes despite being recruited from QPR last summer, often third-choice to May and Jay Stansfield, making just 12 starts across all competitions, but he was still able to score some crucial goals against Wrexham and in the EFL Trophy semi-final against Bradford City.

However, now could be the ideal time for all parties to move on and for the club to recoup some of the £1m paid for his services, especially with new signing Ducksh set to return to fitness in the not-too-distant future, which would see Dykes fall further down the pecking order.

Regardless, Bluenoses cannot question the 29-year-old's commitment when called upon, a trait which was evident in his last-gasp winner in the recent comeback victory away at Blackburn, which could light the touch paper towards yet another successful season at St Andrew's.

Tyler Roberts

Tyler Roberts' time at Birmingham has been nothing short of disastrous, with the former Leeds United man last donning the Royal Blue competitively in August 2024 heading into their meeting with Oxford United this weekend.

The 26-year-old has become a 'forgotten man' after failing to set the world alight during his first season at the club two years ago, accumulating a solitary assist before being sent out on loan to Northampton Town last season, where he also failed to make the strongest of impressions.

Roberts recorded just one goal and three assists at Sixfields amid fitness issues, and was unsurprisingly omitted from Davies' pre-season squad in Portugal last month.

At this stage of his career, the 20-time Wales international will be desperate to reignite his creative touch, and that, logically, will only happen elsewhere.
