There is simply no room for any more experiments or risks at FC Barcelona this season. Now at the business end of the campaign, the title charge for various competitions is now completely in play. For Hansi Flick, now is the time that his Barcelona players are expected to stay at the top of their game.
Despite their clear objectives, however, it is never possible to predict everything that could go wrong as well. Untimely injuries are simply a part of football, and Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo’s case is no different following his physical issue in the most recent game.
Fortunately, however, that turned out to be nothing more than a scare and the actual problem itself is not too serious. In fact, there is a possibility that he could even feature for Barcelona in the upcoming La Liga clash against Rayo Vallecano.
Moreover, as highlighted by SPORT, another defensive player is also nearing a full return after a rather frustrating spell on the sidelines. 28-year-old Danish centre-back Andreas Christensen is also working hard to be available again as soon as possible.
Currently, the report has suggested that while he may not be back in time for the game against Rayo, he will likely be back for the very next match against UD Las Palmas. In the next few days, he is expected to be given the medical green light and be available for Hansi Flick again.
So far this season, Christensen has not exactly had the best of luck. After only featuring for around only 30 minutes against Valencia near the start of the season, the player had to be sidelined since then due to some physical concerns. However, even after a long recovery period, he spent three games on the bench before getting injured again, this time in training.
Now, after a lengthy recovery stretch, the player is working as hard as possible to return in the best shape possible. For Hansi Flick, his full availability will be like a ‘winter signing’ according to SPORT, as being able to count on him will offer the German coach a lot of extra options.
