The 2025 winter transfer window has closed, and a lot of business was squeeze in over the past few days.

Having Deadline Day on a Monday (for a lot of Europe) means that transfers do fall by the wayside slightly with games at the weekend. At least in the eyes of fans. There’s still business being done behind the scenes.

Just look at Sunday, for example. Just a few hours after Manchester United were beaten 0-2 at home by Crystal Palace, it was confirmed that Marcus Rashford had joined Aston Villa on loan.

But with so much going on, it’s easy to get caught up. So we’re here to round up the done deals you might have missed from deadline day and the preceding weekend.

Rob Holding

Rob Holding has played just one game for Crystal Palace this season, making an appearance in the Carabao Cup. According to reports, there was a falling out Oliver Glasner, though the reason was never confirmed. While he has not yet left Palace permanently, Holding will spend the rest of the season in the Championship, on loan at Crystal Palace.

Michy Batshuayi

To: Eintracht Frankfurt

There was a hole in Eintracht Frankfurt’s attack after Omar Marmoush’s departure for Manchester City. That has been filled by Michy Batshuayi, who joins on a permanent deal from Galatasaray. The Belgian had played a whopping 30 games for Galatasaray across all competitions, but that converted to just 852 minutes. That’s an average of 28.4 minutes per game. It was always going to be tough for him to compete with Mauro Icardi, Victor Osimhen and Dries Mertens, even though the latter is now out for the season.

Lloyd Kelly

Lloyd Kelly had been linked with a move away from Newcastle United all window. And it took up until the final hours for him to depart, albeit only on loan. The 26-year-old has played 14 times for Newcastle across the season, but amassed just 596 minutes. Kelly will spend the rest of the season on loan at Juventus, who have an obligation to buy the Englishman in the summer for £20m.

Carney Chukwuemeka

While Chelsea were facing off in the Premier League against West Ham United, Carney Chukwuemeka was in Germany. The midfielder, who has been restricted to 130 minutes in the Europa Conference League and Carabao Cup this season, has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan. There is an option to buy in the loan deal, and Chukwuemeka may see his future outside Stamford Bridge.

Marco Asensio

One day after the loan arrival of Rashford was announced, Aston Villa named another temporary player. This time it was Marco Asensio, who joins from Paris Saint-Germain for the remainder of the season. The Spaniard had played 16 times for PSG in the first half of the season, but was an unused substitute in six of their past eight league games. He’ll now look to add to his three Champions League successes with Aston Villa.

Evan Ferguson

An early story on Deadline Day, West Ham secured the loan signing of Evan Ferguson from Brighton and Hove Albion to help with their striker issues. Both Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug are unavailable due to injury, the former not expected back until April. Ferguson had played 15 times for Brighton across all competitions this season, but only amassed 390 minutes.

Santiago Gimenez

To: AC Milan

AC Milan have scored 33 goals in the league this season, the second-lowest among Serie A’s top half. They’ve looked to remedy that in signing Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord. The Mexican striker had scored 16 goals in 19 games for Feyenoord across all competitions, including five in five in the Champions League. Injury cut his playing time short, but he’ll be ready to attack for Milan.

Stefanos Tzimas

Stefanos Tzimas has had a bit of a busy weekend. On Saturday, he returned from his loan at Nuremberg to PAOK Salonika. On Sunday, he joined Nuremberg on a permanent deal. And on Monday, he joined Brighton permanently, before returning to Nuremberg on loan for the remainder of the season. The Greek striker has had a good season for Nuremberg, with 10 goals in 17 league games, and will be one for Brighton’s future.

Marcus Edwards

This one felt out of the blue. Marcus Edwards was tearing Champions League defences apart for Sporting CP not too long ago. But the Englishman had fallen out of favour this season, with just 10 appearances across all competitions. He averaged 34.6 minutes per appearance. Edwards will now be playing in the Championship, joining Burnley on loan for the remainder of the season.

Davide Calabria

Davide Calabria is AC Milan, spending his entire career at the club. The Italian came through the academy to make 272 appearances for AC Milan, captaining the Rossoneri from 2022. But his time has finally come to an end, with Calabria allowed to leave AC Milan for Torino. His contract was up in the summer, but AC Milan allowed him the early departure for game time, respecting his wishes.

Cesare Casadei

When Chelsea signed Cesare Casadei from Inter Milan in 2022, it represented a good bit of business. He came with promise that could have either seen him break into the first team, or sold for a profit. The Italian had two different loan spells at Reading and Leicester, and made 17 first-team appearances for Chelsea. He has now left permanently, joining Torino for less than Chelsea paid for him.

Alvaro Morata

To: Galatarasay

The Turkish Super Lig continues to find a home for former Premier League players. The latest to make his way to Turkey is Alvaro Morata, who has moved from AC Milan to Galatasaray on loan. Morata had started 13 games for AC Milan in Serie A this season, scoring five goals. But he would have found playing time in Milan hard to come by following the arrival of Santiago Gimenez.

Miguel Almiron

On Friday, Miguel Almiron said goodbye to Newcastle after six years, making his return to MLS side Atlanta United.

The Paraguayan spent exactly six years in Newcastle, signing from Atlanta on 31st January 2019. During his spell with the club, Almiron played 223 times, scoring 30 goals. His workrate and energy made him much-loved among Newcastle fans and Eddie Howe. But he had fallen out of favour this season, with just 412 minutes across all competitions.
