With Russell Martin’s Rangers debut out of the way at Ibrox, we turn our attention to who wasn’t there in a home jersey.
The whys, the wherefores, and who was missing presumed injured or otherwise.
Here we go…
Souttar remains unfit, having undergone surgery for a troublesome calf. We’re not sure when he’ll be back.
Davies has returned home after his loan at Brum, Rangers are (hopefully) keen to offload him, but our information earlier this year was that the club was keen to use him.
Nsiala is working on a loan deal out and isn’t part of Martin’s plans, the manager already confirming this.
Sterling is recovering from injury and still isn’t fit enough yet.
Cifuentes (probably) isn’t part of the plans and has returned for now from his loan at ARIS.
Rothwell isn’t ready yet.
Aasgard also isn’t ready.
Cameron is injured, more on that in another entry.
Dowell is back from his loan at Brum, and we understand like Davies the Championship side want to sign him.
Matondo, yup, he’s out injured for the foreseeable having undergone surgery. As usual.
Dessers is working on his deal to AEK and that one is up in the air, club has spun it as injury.
And the same deal for Hamza, off to Lille or maybe not?
As things stand the above 12 weren’t in Govan for the clash with the Belgians, and we don’t think many of them have a future.
We certainly hope not…
