Winless Wolves will be looking to upset Arne Slot’s flying Reds

Wolves and Liverpool clash with the two sides in very contrasting positions in the Premier League table.

Gary O’Neil’s side are currently bottom on goal difference, and are one of five teams without a win to date. Their performances, excluding 6-2 loss at home to Chelsea, have not been poor though, and they were unlucky not to get a result in either of their last two games against Newcastle and Aston Villa.

However, they will have their work cut out against Arne Slot’s side, who sit in second place. Liverpool have recovered quickly from their shock 1-0 loss at home to Nottingham Forest, winning their last three games, and scoring 11 goals in the process and recently made light work of West Ham with a 5-1 win in the Carabao Cup third round.

A win here could send them top of the table if Manchester City slip up at Newcastle earlier in the day.

Wolves suffered a serious blow during the week when Yerson Mosquera was ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury. The Colombian defender was stretchered off in the second half at Villa Park last Saturday. The hosts are also dealing with a virus in the squad.

Boubacar Traore, Toti Gomes and Sasa Kalajdzic all remain out with long-term injuries.

Alisson Becker is fit for the Reds following a minor muscle complaint.

Harvey Elliott is out until at least next month with a fractured foot.
