Arsenal make the trip to Molineux this weekend to face a Wolves side flirting with relegation from the Premier League.

The Gunners put themselves in a very favourable position to finish in the top eight of the Uefa Champions League in midweek by prevailing over Dinamo Zagreb.

Although their injuries are not considered serious, William Saliba and Myles Lewis-Skelly may be unavailable for the trip to Wolverhampton. Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Ben White are long-term absentees with the latter the closest to returning.

Wolves succumbed to Chelsea on Monday night to lose 3-1 in West London after a second-half collapse. Amidst uncertainty over his future, Vitor Pereira has confirmed Matheus Cunha is ‘ready and committed’ for today’s clash.

Boubacar Traore and Toti Gomes are edging closer to full fitness following lengthy injury layoffs.

Pereira’s side are only outside the relegation zone on goal difference after a third successive league defeat on Monday. Chelsea overwhelmed the team hailing from the Black Country to win 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Their record at Molineux has been particularly disappointing this season. Only Southampton have picked up fewer than their seven points at home.

Wolves are still searching for their first league win of the calendar year. However, they have succeeded in the FA Cup in 2025 as they beat Bristol City to progress into the fourth round.

Arsenal all but confirmed their place in the last-16 of the Champions League with a routine triumph over Dinamo Zagreb. Goals from Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard saw the Gunners ease past the Croatian champions in North London.

They are now three points clear of the playoff positions and have a superior goal difference to all of the teams below them in the standings, except for Atalanta. Mikel Arteta’s side have only conceded twice in seven European outings.

Arsenal will be searching to reduce the six-point gap between them and Premier League leaders Liverpool with a fourth consecutive win at Molineux.

Their form in 2025 has been inconsistent, with important victories over Tottenham and Brentford overshadowed by defeats to Newcastle and Manchester United in cup competitions.

Arsenal cruised to victory over Wolves back in August to start their Premier League campaign with aplomb. The Gunners imposed themselves on proceedings from the first whistle and had the lion share of possession.

Kai Havertz scored Arsenal’s first goal of the campaign just shy of the half hour mark with a brave header. Bukayo Saka whipped in an inviting cross which Jose Sa came to punch, but Havertz’s clever movement allowed him to reach the ball before the goalkeeper.

Jorgen Strand Larsen came closest for Wolves in the first half but David Raya reacted well to deny the Norwegian’s headed effort.

Arsenal’s dominance continued after the break with Thomas Partey shooting just wide of the post. Matheus Cunha then spurned an opportunity to punish the hosts after a sloppy pass from Gabriel. The defender presented the ball to his fellow countryman but the Brazilian could only curl an attempt into Raya’s grasp.

Mikel Arteta’s players then put the game beyond Wolves with a quarter of an hour to go. Saka cut inside before unleashing an unstoppable effort past Sa, the power of his shot catching the Portuguese goalkeeper out.
