That is according to Football Insider, which states that the Premier League side is looking for a new defender after Max Kilman joined West Ham United.

QPR will be hoping to be busy this summer, but with the focus on bringing players into the club rather than seeing players depart.

The Rs have had a rough couple of seasons now at the bottom end of the Championship, and Marti Cifuentes will be hoping he can change that at the start of next season.

To do that, the Spaniard will be looking to keep his most important players at the club, and defender Clarke-Salter will likely be considered one of those.

Jake Clarke-Salter has been with QPR since the summer of 2022, when he joined the club on a free transfer after leaving Chelsea.

The defender struggled to get a regular spot in the team in his first season at the club, but his importance grew last season.

He seems to have impressed while playing for the Rs, and according to Football Insider, Wolves are weighing up a move for the player.

The report states that Clarke-Salter is a player the Premier League side admires, and they watched the centre-back on numerous occasions last season, and they are now lining up a move.

It goes on to add that the 26-year-old is one of several names on the club’s list, and QPR are now bracing themselves for an offer in the coming days and weeks.

Stoke City are also interested in Jake Clarke-Salter

It was reported by the Telegraph’s John Percy in May that Stoke City had Jake Clarke-Salter as a top summer target.

It was reported that the price at the time was believed to be between £5 and £7 million, with clubs from the Premier League also interested.

As well as Stoke being credited with an interest in the player, it was also claimed in April that teams such as Celtic, Burnley, Crystal Palace, and Ipswich Town were also keen on the defender.

However, it now appears as though Gary O’Neill’s Wolves are trying to get ahead of the chasing pack as they look for a replacement for Kilman.

Clarke-Salter still has two years left to run on his contract in West London, meaning Wolves will have to make a tempting offer for the club to consider his sale.

It may come as a surprise to QPR fans to see Jake Clarke-Salter being linked with not only a move away but to a Premier League team.

The defender has done reasonably well since joining the Rs, but he has been so impressive that a move to the top flight was expected.

It was only really last season that the 26-year-old got his chance in the QPR team on a regular basis.

However, it appears as though Wolves are keen on signing the defender, and while QPR will likely want to keep the player, this is an opportunity that Clarke-Salter cannot let pass.
