Paris Saint-Germain aimed to reinforce their midfield during the summer transfer window, identifying Palmeiras midfielder Richard Ríos as a key target. The Colombian impressed during the 2024 Copa América, playing a pivotal role in his nation’s run to the final, where they fell to Argentina.
Antena 2 Deportes revealed in August that PSG submitted a €20 million bid for the 24-year-old. Ríos, who has garnered attention for his standout performances, was also linked with European heavyweights AC Milan and Manchester United.
However, despite PSG’s efforts to lure him to the French capital, UOL reported in August that Palmeiras’ president made it clear to the club’s board that Ríos was not for sale, even as the Ligue 1 side increased their offer to €20 million.

AS Colombia reports that Palmeiras appears determined to hold on to Ríos during this winter transfer window, as the club prioritizes maintaining its core squad, with the midfielder playing a pivotal role.
However, reports suggest that Wolverhampton is closely monitoring Ríos as a potential alternative if they fail to secure the signing of Brazilian midfielder Gerson.
For now, Ríos is considered untouchable by Palmeiras, meaning the Wolves would need to present an offer too good to refuse to sway the Brazilian club’s stance.
