Wolverhampton Wanderers are preparing a bid for Genk’s Tolu Arokodare, according to HLN. The Premier League club know that the Nigerian striker will cost 25 million euros.
After 2025/25 saw him score a league-leading 21 goals, Tolu spent this summer in limbo. The Genk striker was linked with several clubs in England, Germany, and Italy this transfer window. Last week, it was revealed that he was quite high on the lists of Napoli and AC Milan, but they preferred Rasmus Højlund (Manchester United) and Conrad Harder (Sporting), respectively, although the latter’s deal is in jeopardy.
In any case, Tolu looks to be heading for the exit. Although the striker was originally scheduled to start tomorrow in the second leg against Lech Poznan (Genk lead 5-1 on aggregate), the situation is such that he may not play again. All risks are being avoided. Wolves intend to make an opening bid.
Genk set an asking price of €25 million this transfer window and are still targeting a similar figure (including bonuses). It’s likely that both clubs will reach an agreement.
Tolu should, in principle, generate more than his predecessor and compatriot, Paul Onuachu. The former Golden Boot winner moved to Southampton for €18 million on Deadline Day in January 2023.
