Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Wolfsburg are looking to sign Union St Gilloise’s striker Mohamed Amoura. The Algerian forward has scored 23 goals and provided eight assists for the side this season and as a result has been linked to a move away this summer. Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are the first side to be named as a serious destination for the striker next season.

However, a lack of European football and the fee required to sign Amoura may well be a stumbling block. Bayer Leverkusen had to spend a reasonably large amount to bring Victor Boniface to Germany last summer from Brussels and Amoura will likely require a similar investment. It certainly worked out well for Xabi Alonso’s men, but for Wolfsburg the fee of over €20m may be a step too far.

Union will once again be looking to make a profit from the forward, having spent just €4m to bring the striker in from Lugano in the summer.
