Arsenal reportedly considered a move for a Manchester United winger this summer, but ultimately opted to explore other options to strengthen their forward line. The Gunners have been active in the transfer market, identifying versatile attackers to add depth and quality.
One such signing is Noni Madueke, whose versatility could be a major asset for Mikel Arteta. The former PSV man is predominantly a right winger, but he is also capable of playing on the left. Heading into the summer, a left-sided attacker was considered a priority and the club were linked with several high-profile names across Europe. Real Madrid’s Rodrygo has long been admired and remains on the radar, but reports have now revealed that Arsenal could have gone in a different direction altogether.
According to Manchester Evening News, Arsenal carried out due diligence on Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho before passing on the opportunity to make a move. The same report also claimed that Tottenham and Atletico Madrid looked into the player before exploring alternative targets.
This revelation comes after speculation that Garnacho had been told to leave United by Ruben Amorim. However, Chelsea are now seen as frontrunners for his signature, with credible sources indicating that an agreement is close.

Arsenal instead completed the signing of Noni Madueke and remain interested in Eberechi Eze and Rodrygo, although any further additions are likely to depend on player sales. With six new arrivals and several loanees returning to the squad, the Gunners may first need to trim down their options before making another attacking purchase.
At present, Arsenal can call on Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Madueke as left-flank options. On paper that looks sufficient, but some fans have raised concerns over the overall quality. With the transfer window moving towards its conclusion, Arsenal may decide not to pursue another wide player.
Rodrygo and Eze remain the recurring names, but who would be your ideal option if Arsenal were to revisit the market?
