Bayern have lost just twice all season, whilst taking vital points off Leverkusen in their two draws. They were beaten at home by Bochum on Matchday 25, but it's going to take a real slump in form for them to let Bayer back in between now and the end of the season. Nevertheless, Vincent Kompany's side still have to face European hopefuls in Mainz, Leipzig and Gladbach - teams who have all caused them issues in recent years.

Despite Florian Wirtz's returning from a five-week injury break, Leverkusen were unable to pile the pressure on Bayern ahead of Der Klassiker as they were held at home by Union. Their title fate is not currently in their own hands. All Xabi Alonso and Co. can do is win their remaining games against teams who also still have plenty to play for and hope for at least two favours elsewhere if they are to have a chance of retaining the Meisterschale.
It would take an incredible and unprecedented turn of events for Leverkusen to claim the title at this stage, but last term's domestic double-winners have already shown they know how to rewrite the history books...
