Liverpool’s return to Adidas for the 2025/26 season carries more than just commercial weight. After five years in Nike’s hands, the rekindled partnership with Adidas reflects both heritage and ambition. The switch takes effect on 1 August 2025, a moment supporters have already circled in their calendars.
Until then, the squad continues pre-season preparations in Nike training wear, a curious but expected overlap caused by the delayed end to the 2019/20 season during the pandemic. It shifted the start of Nike’s reign back then, and now extends their final chapter until the end of July.
“Details of the new adidas Liverpool kits – home and away – will be revealed via club and adidas channels and available to purchase from August 1, 2025,” confirmed the club in their announcement of the multi-year deal.
It leaves fans waiting a little longer, with the first official appearance in the new strip coming on 4 August at Anfield against Athletic Club. This friendly, part of a double-header, is expected to showcase both the home and away kits for the first time.

The leaked designs of Liverpool’s Adidas kits for 2025/26 hint at a return to elegance. The home shirt draws inspiration from the 2006/07 campaign, a nod to tradition with a white trim circling the torso and sharp cuffed sleeves.
Adidas’ iconic three stripes are set to run across the shoulders, maintaining a timeless aesthetic that will sit well with supporters who grew up watching legends in similar designs. The away kit adopts a clean white base, accented by red detailing that mirrors the home design, offering consistency and polish across the range.
The third kit, though, is already being tipped as the standout. A ‘Sea Green’ palette and a modernised version of the club’s ’90s badge make it the boldest of the trio. It leans into retro influences, a design language that has proved popular in recent years across the sport.
And with Liverpool reigning as Premier League champions under Arne Slot, there is one more elegant addition across all shirts: the gold Premier League badge stitched proudly onto the sleeve.
This move is not only about aesthetics. It symbolises a renewed alignment with a partner who understands the club’s identity. Adidas were part of some of Liverpool’s most iconic moments, and their return coincides with the beginning of what many fans hope will be another golden era under Slot.
The Dutch manager’s impact in his debut season, capped with a league title, has re-energised the fanbase and reinforced the importance of stability and clear vision. The return to Adidas complements that ethos, familiar but forward-looking.
Until the end of July, Nike branding remains visible in training, a necessary wait. But come 1 August, a new era begins. The kits will be available for purchase on that date, with further announcements expected across official Liverpool and Adidas channels.
The late summer release creates anticipation, but it also builds into a powerful unveiling, tied closely to a packed Anfield and another pre-season that is set to be filled with excitement, expectation and pride.
Supporters can expect more than new shirts. They will represent a statement of where the club has been, and where it is heading.
