It has been an arduous UEFA Champions League campaign for Paris Saint-Germain, however, with one gameweek remaining, they are on the brink of qualification for the next round.
PSG went into a crunch encounter against Manchester City at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night in desperate need of a result. Two goals behind the Premier League side early in the second half thanks to a quickfire brace from Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland, PSG looked to be staring down the barrel of a premature exit from the Champions League, having reached the semi-finals last season.
However, they pulled off a comeback for the ages as Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola responded with a quick-fire double of their own. João Neves then gave Les Parisiens the lead with less than 15 minutes remaining with Gonçalo Ramos adding the cherry on the cake in injury time as Luis Enrique’s side ran out 4-2 winners.
It means that the pressure has been eased going into the final round of games. PSG will travel to face VfB Stuttgart, knowing that a draw next Wednesday will secure their qualification for the play-off round.
