After a much-needed win over Wolves perhaps saved his position, Julen Lopetegui will hope West Ham can build on that result at Bournemouth.
It’s been a season plagued by inconsistency at the London Stadium, despite significant investment in the summer. The new manager is already under-fire and can ill-afford more bad performances. West Ham sit 14th and are well off the pace in the chase for Europe.
Their opponents, Bournemouth, have found real form under Andoni Iraola. The Cherries are targeting a fourth consecutive league win after victories over Wolves, Spurs and Ipswich in recent weeks. A win will take the Cherries level on points with fifth-placed Manchester City.
Michail Antonio continues to recover from a serious road traffic accident last week, with the forward undergoing surgery for a lower limb fracture. Antonio’s accident cast a shadow over last weekend’s win over Wolves but the 34-year-old survived the horror crash.
Jarrod Bowen is likely to continue in a central role with Mohammed Kudus and Crysencio Summerville offering support from the flanks.
Emerson Palmieri is the other confirmed absentee with the Italian full-back suspended. Aaron Cresswell is set to come into his side and could make his 300th top-flight appearance for the Hammers.
West Ham United predicted XI: Fabianski; Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman, Cresswell; Soucek, Alvarez; Kudus, Soler, Summerville; Bowen.
Bournemouth host West Ham in the Premier League on Monday 16th December 2024. Kick-off at the Vitality Stadium is 20:00 GMT.
The game will be broadcast on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR. Coverage of Monday Night Football starts at 6.30pm GMT.
