West Ham United are desperate to add a new striker before the February 3 transfer deadline.

The Hammers are currently very short of options in attack, with Niclas Fullkrug, Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen all sidelined with injuries.

West Ham recently submitted a €25 million bid for the United States international Ricardo Pepi, which was a loan with an option to buy. But their offer was turned down by PSV Eindhoven.

However, Graham Potter’s side are set to return with a new €35m bid for the 22-year-old, according to journalist Rik Elfrink.

Pepi has been earning rave reviews with his performances in the Eredivisie since joining PSV in 2023. In 68 appearances across all competitions, he has scored 26 goals and registered six assists.

West Ham have been highly impressed with his displays and are ready to make full efforts to secure a deal for him.

But it remains to be seen whether PSV are willing to sanction an exit in the middle of the season.

The Dutch giants will have to sign a replacement if they allow the American footballer to leave this month.

Having said that, West Ham are prepared to spend good money for a transfer, and that could tempt them into selling the player.

The Irons submitted a €68m offer for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran earlier this window, but that was rejected by the Lions.

West Ham have also been linked with Brighton & Hove Albion star Evan Ferguson, but they face competition from Bayer Leverkusen for the 20-year-old.
