West Ham United suffered a disappointing 5-2 loss to Arsenal at the London Stadium on Saturday.
The Hammers were looking to build on their 2-0 success against Newcastle United, but they slumped to a humiliating defeat.
West Ham endured a disastrous start to the home encounter, as they were 4-0 down after 36 minutes.
Gabriel Magalhaes, Leandro Trossard, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz all exploited the Hammers’ weak defence to put their names on the scoresheet.
However, Aaron Wan-Bissaka sparked hopes of a stunning comeback as he made a run into the opposition box to pull one back with a neat finish.
Emerson Palmieri quickly added another by curling a delicious free-kick into the back of the net.
But Arsenal restored their big lead through Bukayo Saka, and they ultimately ran out 5-2 winners.
Most of the Hammers’ players produced a poor display, but Wan-Bissaka was the only bright spark for the home side yesterday.
The 27-year-old was guilty of switching off as Saka set up Trossard for the Gunners’ second, but he compensated for that mistake by brilliantly netting West Ham’s opener.
The right-back’s impressive statistics reflected his performance at the London Stadium. He won all of his aerial duels and completed all of his dribble attempts.
Wan-Bissaka had 44 touches, completing 18 of his 24 passes. He registered four tackles, two clearances and an interception.
The former Manchester United star scored against Newcastle on Monday, helping them win 2-0.
