The Foxes sacked their now former manager following defeat to Chelsea at the weekend.

West Bromwich Albion held onto their play-off spot on Saturday afternoon following their 2-2 draw with Norwich City at The Hawthorns.

It was their seventh draw in eight Championship matches, with these solitary points seeing them lose touch with those fighting for an automatic promotion place after 16 matches.

It's been a frustrating couple of months for Baggies supporters, with their team looking as though they have forgotten how to win matches, but there will still be fears surrounding the future of their manager, Carlos Corberan.

Leicester City sacked Steve Cooper on Sunday after his now-former club were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea at the King Power Stadium the day before. The Foxes are now searching for a new manager to keep them in the Premier League this season, and West Brom's Spanish boss could be on their radar.

Leicester may target Corberan once again

While their results in recent matches have not perhaps gone the way they would have hoped, it can be said that not a single Baggies supporter would want to see Corberan leave The Hawthorns in 2024/25.

The 41-year-old had been a target for Leicester back in the summer before Cooper had been appointed as the man to take the Foxes forward on their return to the Premier League. However, poor performances saw the former Nottingham Forest promotion hero sacked after only 12 matches.

This could lead to an influx in movement in the managerial market in England, especially if someone such as Corberan is identified as the number one target.

West Brom's fans will be holding their breath over the course of the next couple of weeks as the East Midlands club set about trying to find someone to help keep them in the top flight. The Spaniard could be the perfect choice with his ability to get the most out of teams that do not have squads with the same amount of talent as others around them.

He managed to get his team into the play-offs last season, despite others in the division maybe being stronger in certain positions compared to his own team.

This will interest Leicester, who may look for a cheaper option as they are about to bring in their fourth manager in just over 19 months, with Brendan Rodgers, Enzo Maresca and now Cooper all leaving due to being sacked or, in Maresca's case, joining another club.

West Brom's recent results could have an effect on Corberan's decision

If the Foxes do come calling in the coming days and weeks, then the Baggies' recent results may just give Corberan a reason to think of leaving for the Premier League.

His team's current form is not that of one who is going for promotion, and he will know that better than anyone. Goals have started to dry up, and despite Josh Maja finding the back of the net on Saturday, his early-season stars have not offered the same in an attacking sense in previous games as they had done in August and September.

It's a factor that will worry supporters and the hierarchy at The Hawthorns, and they will be hoping that an upturn in results this week against Sunderland and Preston North End will give him the desire he needs to stay.

West Brom will have fears that Corberan will leave the club, however, there are no signs that Leicester are coming back in for their manager at this moment in time, and full focus should be on their upcoming games.
