Ousmane Dembélé (27) could not escape questions about his relationship with Luis Enrique on his return to the Paris Saint-Germain starting lineup last night.

The winger was pivotal in helping PSG defeat an in-form Olympique Lyonnais 3-1 as he scored the opener and helped win the penalty for the second by delivering an inch-perfect pass to Désiré Doué (19) who fouled in the box.

It was a performance that raised questions about the winger’s absence from the starting 11 since he picked up a red card in the 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on the 26th of November.

Since that match, Luis Enrique had used the Frenchman only as a substitute in the draws with FC Nantes (1-1) and AJ Auxerre (0-0) with it being reported that the head coach was furious with his player for the infraction that reduced PSG to 10 men while they were chasing the game.

The relationship between the two has been under the microscope this season and Dembélé shed some light on it “As [Luis Enrique] said in the press conference, we are not brothers, he is not my father. We are not bros. It’s a coach-player relationship. I have known him for a little longer. We try do everything so that PSG grows, wins titles, plays well, and pleases everyone.”
