‘We tried, but…’ – Former Barcelona star hails Hansi Flick’s side after Joan Gamper Trophy | OneFootball

Former Barcelona star Sergi Roberto was quick to reveal his appreciation for the excellence of the Blaugrana’s current crop of players, on the back of his meeting with Hansi Flick’s side on Sunday.

Barcelona were of course back in action yesterday evening, rounding out the club’s pre-season fixture list in a Joan Gamper Trophy meeting with Serie A outfit Como.

When all was said and done in Catalunya, the former emerged on the right side of an altogether one-sided result, triumphing by five goals to nil.

The aforementioned Sergi Roberto played his part for Como in the clash, locking horns with a number of ex-teammates in the process.

Speaking to the media post-match, the subject of the quality in Hansi Flick’s star-studded squad was therefore put to the versatile midfielder.

And Roberto, with a wry smile spreading across his face, went on to admit:

“We tried, but these guys are really strong!”
