The Seagulls travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal in their latest league match.
Arsenal go into the game under the interim management of Renée Slegers, however, Brighton & Hove Albion boss Vidošić says that this will make no difference to the challenge that awaits his side.
“They’re still a fantastic team and we know at the Emirates, there will probably be a massive crowd supporting them,” Vidošić said when speaking in the pre-match press conference.
“They’ve done well. They’ve probably been unlucky in some of the games. I thought even in the loss to Chelsea, barring a few moments, they were quite good and created numerous chances.
“We know it’s a hard game. I don’t think that they’re going to be less than at their best, so we prepare each theme that we’re going to play the best version and if we can bring our best version as well, it’ll be a fantastic game.”
Brighton & Hove Albion go into the game above Arsenal in the Barclays Women’s Super League table but Vidošić says that this speaks for nothing, his side’s approach remains consistent.
He said “The aim is always to go to win. I don’t look at the table too much, it wouldn’t change if they were above us, if we were first or if we were in any other position. It doesn’t change the approach.
“We want to go out and play our football. We respect Arsenal and we’ve analysed everything; with the ball, without the ball, transition, set-pieces, you name it, we’ve looked at everything. We’ll continue to look at stuff until kick-off. We’ll hopefully come out, represent the club, give our best and I think it’ll be a fantastic football game.”
Brighton & Hove Albion currently occupy a European qualification spot in the Barclays Women’s Super League table. Vidošić is not ruling out a top-three finish but knows that there are many twists and turns ahead.
He said “If we continue on the path, I think it is [possible]. Until it’s impossible, it’s possible. We’ll just keep doing what we can and what we can control. The results are never certainties, especially in a league as tough as ours where the biggest clubs have had troubles every week. There’s never been too many results that have been blown out and it’s been competitive every single match that I’ve watched.
“We have to prepare, we have to do all of the one percenters throughout the week and then on matchday, we’ll see what happens.”
Brighton & Hove Albion’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Arsenal kicks-off at 7pm this evening.
