AC Milan are interested in signing Djorjde Petrovic and have been watching the Chelsea keeper for over a year according to Nizaar Kinsella.

The Blues are once again set for a busy summer and could fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.

Chelsea face a critical window and have already completed the signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich for £30m, but are also looking to add a centre back and right footed attacker.

AC Milan interested in Djordje Petrovic

There’s expected to movement in the goalkeeper position with at least one if not two goalkeepers leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.

Chelsea are reportedly preparing an offer between £20-25m for AC Milan’s Mike Maignan, and it’s clear they’ve decided to upgrade between the sticks.

The potential arrival of the France international plunges the future of both Petrovic and Robert Sanchez into doubt.

Petrovic was named Strasbourg Player of the Season after excelling on loan as the Ligue 1 club secured qualification for the Conference League.

It had been expected Petrovic would compete for the number one shirt, but Chelsea’s interest in Maignan indicates they may well be open to cashing in on the Serb.

Chelsea would be in line to make a significant profit on the 25-year-old having signed him from MLS side New England Revolution for £14m in the summer of 2023, and Kinsella has provided an update.

He took to X.com and said:

“Chelsea/Strasbourg goalkeeper Petrovic is attracting a lot of interest, as previously reported.

“AC Milan have been watching him for over a year but have been looking at a few options to replace Maignan, including Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.”

It appears Chelsea have identified Maignan as the man they want between the sticks, and the France international would represent a significant upgrade on their current options.
