The matches are coming thick and fast, with Real Madrid now taking on Alavés at the Santiago Bernabeu for their upcoming La Liga encounter. The Merengues will be looking to further extend their unbeaten streak with this game, and to ultimately break Ernesto Valverde’s record with Barcelona.

However, Ancelotti will be without one of his key players for this match. Dani Carvajal came off in the last match and is not named in the squad for this fixture. Meanwhile, Eduardo Camavinga is expected to return for the Madrid derby.

Here is how Real Madrid can lineup against Alavés.

He was unlucky to have let in a goal against Espanyol as the Belgian was in line to keep yet another cleansheet. Alavés manager Luis Garcia admitted that Courtois is the best goalkeeper in the world right now – and rightfully so.

RB: Lucas Vazquez

An easy choice to make for Ancelotti, with Carvajal not named in the squad. Had a decent 40 minutes against Espanyol and would hope to replicate that performance in this match.

The German received a well-deserved rest and just played the final 7 minutes to see off the previous fixture. Is expected to return to the lineup and continue from where he left off.

CB: Éder Militão

Had a decent outing against Espanyol and will be pairing up with Rüdiger for this match. The Brazilian should be aware though, that if he is not up to the mark, Tchouameni has shown that he is competent enough in that position.

LB: Ferland Mendy

The Frenchman extended with Los Blancos until 2027 as confirmed by Carlo Ancelotti. Fran García was unable to put his best foot forward and, as a result, Mendy will slot directly into this position.

He has been a mainstay in this team and, arguably, the Uruguayan deserves some rest but with Bellingham not at 100%, he will have to start yet another game.

CDM: Aurelien Tchouaméni

The Frenchman will return to his natural position after putting in a shift as a centre-back over the weekend. Has been a bit shaky at times but will regains his composure as the game progresses.

The Turk has been a treat to watch whenever he plays and in case Ancelotti chooses not to risk Bellingham, Arda will make a second consecutive start. Despite being impressive, he has not been involved in goals or assists – and that is something the youngster would be eager to change.

An underrated player, the Brazilian has shown what he is capable of doing – with or without the ball at his feet. The winger has a goal and assist each in the last two matches and would aim to extend this good run of form.

In the last training session before this fixture, Endrick suffered knock but it is unknown whether it was serious or not. If it is not serious, then the youngster will receive a place in the lineup as Ancelotti mentioned before the Espanyol fixture, that the 18-year old will start either of the next two games – and it seems like it would be tonight’s match.

The Brazilian has impressed everyone at the club and deservedly earned a spot. Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe may come off the bench in the second half.

A goal and assist in the previous game in a 35-minute outing clearly showed us Vinícius at his best and it seems like the Brazilian has hit the ground running. Will start tonight but it would not be surprising if he is substituted in the second half as no risks will be taken with the Madrid derby on the horizon.
