Villarreal’s move for Chelsea star gets the ‘here we go’ | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Villarreal have this week tied up a deal for a fresh addition to the club’s defensive ranks.

This comes amid confirmation of Chelsea’s Renato Veiga preparing to link up with Marcelino’s squad for the seasons ahead.

Stopper Veiga had of course seen his name emerge as an altogether prominent one in the Spanish media headlines across the week to date.

This came after word was forthcoming that the Portuguese – fresh off a fine loan spell with Italian heavyweights Juventus – was the subject of mounting interest on the part of the aforementioned Villarreal.

After Chelsea made clear that they were open only to a permanent transfer for the 22-year-old, the Villarreal brass set about scraping together the required funds to strike a deal.

And as alluded to above, over the last 24 hours, precisely as much has been struck.

As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Villarreal agree deal to sign Renato Veiga on permanent move from Chelsea, here we go! Agreement with player and also with Chelsea on €29.5m package add-ons included and also heavy sell-on clause. Record transfer for Villarreal after exclusive story last week.’
