Villarreal readying move for PSG star | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga outfit Villarreal are preparing to open talks with their counterparts at Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain, over the signing of Carlos Soler.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Estadio Deportivo, who have this weekend provided an insight into the situation.

It is common knowledge at this point that those behind the scenes at Villarreal are hard at work to bring in reinforcements with a view to next season.

Following the big-money sales of both Álex Baena and Thierno Barry, the Yellow Submarine have plenty of restructuring to do ahead of a season in the Champions League in 2025/26.

And underlined in red in the boardroom at La Cerámica, it is understood, is the name of the aforementioned Carlos Soler.

Midfielder Soler is fresh off a return to base in Paris, following a year on loan in England with West Ham United.

If the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, though, then the 28-year-old will not remain in France’s capital for long.

As per a report from MD:

‘The newspaper ‘Estadio Deportivo’ report that Villarreal’s sporting directors will be going all out for Soler in the coming days.’

It remains to be seen whether the La Liga side’s proposal comes in the form of a loan deal or a permanent one.
