Italy captain Gianluigi Donnarumma was beaten in the air by Arsenal forward Kai Havertz for the Gunners’ opening goal against PSG in Tuesday night’s Champions League clash at the Emirates.
The former Milan stopper came to claim a delightful Leandro Trossard cross, but was beaten to it by the German, who managed to out-muscle the Azzurri goalkeeper in the air in the process of getting his head to it.
Arsenal went in at half-time as 2-0 leaders over the Parisians. Fellow Italy international Riccardo Calafiori also started at left-back for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Donnarumma was also not at his best for Arsenal’s second, scored by Bukayo Saka. The England international’s long-range free-kick, which was intended as a cross, went straight in the back of the net past even though it it travelled right in front of the Italian.
