Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly on the verge of finally sealing his transfer to Chelsea.

The 21-year-old was dropped from Ruben Amorim’s plans since the end of the previous campaign. The Argentine seemingly sealed his own fate with a public rant following Man Utd’s defeat to Spurs in the Europa League final.

Nevertheless, the writing had been on the wall for quite some time. After all, the manager had already omitted Garnacho from his squad in mid-December, suggesting that they didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye.

Alejandro Garnacho & Man United keen to part ways in the coming days

Not so long ago, the winger was considered one of the biggest rising stars in the Premier League. Therefore, he was always going to attract interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Nevertheless, Chelsea has been leading the chase for months now, while Garnacho is all in favour of a move to Stamford Bridge, as he intends to prolong his Premier League experience.

While the move has been in the air for quite some time, the Blues haven’t been able to seal the deal just yet, with sources believing that the West Londoners must offload some of the deadwood to make room for the Man Utd star.

Therefore, other suitors tried to pounce on the situation and hijack the deal, but as Fabrizio Romano reveals, Garnacho remains betrothed to Chelsea.

Garnacho still expected to sign for Chelsea after turning down Saudi offer

As the Italian journalist reports, the player has turned down an approach from the Saudi Pro League in the last 48 hours, as he only has eyes for the Blues.

Romano insists that the winger’s move from United to Chelsea is at a ‘very advanced stage’, and that all parties expect to reach the finish line before the transfer deadline on September 1.

In addition to Garnacho, the Red Devils are also working on offloading other unwanted players. While Rasmus Hojlund is getting closer to Napoli, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia are still waiting to learn their fates.
