Manchester United could have a busy winter transfer window after a disappointing first half to the season.
The Red Devils suffered their ninth defeat of the Premier League campaign on Monday night after a 2-0 loss to Newcastle United at Old Trafford.
Manager Ruben Amorim may want some reinforcement in January, but that could depend on freeing up space with players being sold or loaned out.
UOL now claim that Antony has been left ‘undervalued’ by his limited progress and United want to loan him out this winter to increase his price tag.
Some intermediaries in Europe have tried to seek proposals from Spain and England, but as things stand, United have not received any sort of offer.
The Brazil international has been hugely disappointing in his United career. He has accumulated just 12 goals and five assists from 94 appearances.
Amorim has ‘always admired’ the qualities of the former Ajax man, but United can’t afford to keep Antony on the bench during the back end of the season.
The club obviously need to cut their losses this year, but a loan deal would be beneficial to secure a decent transfer fee in the next transfer window.
UOL claim that no clubs have come forward to land the 24-year-old, but it has been claimed that the winger is aware of interest from Real Betis.
The Spanish club are on the cusp of offloading Assane Diao to Como . They could turn their interest to signing Antony on loan when he departs.
A deal could still depend on United paying most of the winger’s £150,000 weekly wages.
