Jules Kounde has emerged as a standout player for Barcelona this season, demonstrating remarkable consistency and dedication.
The French defender currently holds the record for the most minutes played for the club, cementing his status as a key figure in the squad. In fact, since joining Barcelona, Kounde has made 123 official appearances.
This impressive tally is only ten matches shy of the 133 games he played during his time at Sevilla over three seasons and barring unforeseen circumstances, he is expected to surpass this number by the end of the season.
Statistically, Kounde delivered solid performances during his time at Sevilla, scoring nine goals and providing three assists as a centre-back. However, his development at Barcelona has been even more impressive.
Although he has yet to match his goal tally from Sevilla, currently standing at six goals, his progress in providing assists has been exceptional.
He has recorded 17 assists in 123 appearances for Barcelona, a significant jump from the three assists he managed at Sevilla.

This growth can be attributed to his deployment as a right-back, a role that has given him more attacking opportunities.
Kounde’s return to Sevilla for the upcoming league clash between Sevilla and Barcelona will be his third visit with the Catalan giants. His record against his former club is flawless, having won all five encounters.
In each of these matches, he played the full 90 minutes, contributing to a combined goal difference of 14-1 in Barcelona’s favour. The most recent fixture, in October last year, ended with a commanding 5-1 victory for Barça.
Despite his dominance against Sevilla, Kounde has always spoken respectfully about his former club, recognising their importance in Spanish football.
While Sevilla are currently experiencing a challenging period, they remain a formidable side under the leadership of Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta, a coach with ties to Barcelona.
As Kounde continues to shine for Barcelona, his evolution as a player highlights his adaptability and growing influence on the pitch.
