The first round of matches at the 2025 UEFA European Championships certainly didn’t disappoint.

A total of 19 goals were scored across eight group matches with each also packed with drama and enthralling football.

There was also a mixture of emotions for the nine City stars representing their nations at the major tournament with a selection looking to build on opening game wins and other hoping to bounce back from defeat in their second assignment.

With another action-packed week ahead which will see the group stage’s conclusion, here’s how to watch Blues players in Switzerland the United Kingdom.

SPAIN

The reigning world champions opened their European pursuit with an emphatic 5-0 win over Portugal at Arena Thun.

Leila Ouahabi remained an unused substitute as goals from Esther Gonzalez (two), Victoria Lopez, Alexia Putellas and Cristina Martin-Prieto helped Spain to three points.

Their next assignment is a meeting with Belgium on Monday 7 July at 17:00 (UK), with ITV1 showing the match in Great Britain.

They then play Italy on Friday 11 July at 20:00 (UK) in their last group match which will be broadcast on BBC One, BBC Sport Web and BBC iPlayer.

GERMANY

Rebecca Knaak played the full 90 minutes of Germany’s 2-0 win over Poland in St Gallen in what was her first appearance at a major tournament.

Following a goalless first half, Jule Brand broke the deadlock for her nation before Lea Schuller extended their advantage on 66 minutes.

Up next for Knaak and Co is a meeting with Andree Jeglertz’s Denmark on Tuesday 8 July which will be broadcast on BBC Two, BBC Sport Web and BBC iPlayer.

A clash with Sweden on Saturday 12 July at 20:00 (UK) represents Germany’s final Group C assignment which will be shown on ITVX.

ENGLAND

After suffering a 2-1 defeat to France in their opening match, England will be aiming to bounce back when they face the Netherlands on Wednesday 9 July at 17:00 (UK) which will be broadcast on BBC One, BBC Sport Web and BBC iPlayer.

The Lionesses then lock horns with Wales in front of ITV1’s cameras on Sunday 13 July at 20:00 (UK) which will conclude their Group D journey.

NETHERLANDS

Vivianne Miedema etched her name in the Netherlands’ history when becoming the first player to score 100 goals for the nation in their 3-0 win over Wales.

Further goals from Victoria Pelova and Esmee Brugts, as Kerstin Casparij played 64 minutes, ensured they made the perfect start to Euro 2025 before they face England in front of BBC One’s cameras on Wednesday 9 July, which kicks-off at 17:00 (UK).

They then face France on Sunday 13 July at 20:00 (UK) which is to be shown on ITVX.

SWITZERLAND

Iman Beney’s Switzerland conclude their Group A quest against Finland on Thursday 10 July at 20:00 (UK) which will be broadcast on BBC Sport Web and BBC iPlayer.

City’s first summer signing featured in their opening round defeat to Norway before playing the full 90 minutes in their 2-0 win over Iceland.
