Two Real Madrid stars lead all of Europe in interceptions this season | OneFootball

Two leading members of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid have racked up more interceptions than any other players across Europe’s top-5 leagues thus far this season.

That’s according to WhoScored, who point towards Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni as the pair in question.

Both Valverde and Tchouaméni have, as expected, continued to playing starring roles in the engine room setup of Carlo Ancelotti across 2024/25 to date.

The former has featured from the off in all 12 of Real Madrid’s fixtures across all competitions, with midfield partner Tchouaméni just one start back, with 11 to his name.

And, across these appearances, both have shone on the defensive side of the ball. As much, as alluded to above, has this weekend been confirmed by the statistics.

As revealed by the reliable WhoScored, with 19 each, Los Blancos’ two enforcers in the middle of the park lead Europe’s top-5 leagues in total interceptions.
