Two players Milan could cut to make room for Kyle Walker | OneFootball

England international Kyle Walker is expected to fly out to Italy on Thursday to formally complete his move from Manchester City to Milan, but the Rossoneri still have some administrative work to do before they can register the 34-year-old to their Serie A squad.

Reports on Wednesday confirmed that Milan have a deal in place with City to sign Walker on an initial loan deal. The Rossoneri will not pay a fee to sign the player on a temporary basis, but there will be an option to make the move permanent at a cost of €5m.

There is already an agreement in place between the club and the player for a contract until the summer of 2027.

Walker’s arrival comes at a convenient time for Sergio Conceicao, who lost starting right-back Emerson Royal through injury two minutes into Wednesday night’s Champions League win over Girona.

Which players Milan could cut to make room for Walker

Though Milan are expected to confirm the signing of Walker in the coming days, the club’s current Serie A squad is full, and they will therefore have to cut one of their current first-team players from the list to make way for the Englishman.

According to reports in Italy on Thursday, two players are in the firing line.

There could be a direct swap: Emerson Royal is reportedly at risk of being cut from Milan’s Serie A squad if his injury is deemed serious.

Luka Jovic, who hasn’t started in Serie A since the first match of the season, and has only racked up three substitute appearances in the league since then, is also a strong possibility.
