FC Barcelona have already returned to the 1:1 status and now they are in a position to use all of their income from player sales or departures towards the signing of new players.
As a result, the Catalans are already looking to sell some of their less important players in January, with the likes of Ansu Fati, Eric Garcia, and Andreas Christensen on the exit ramp.
However, the Blaugranes can also obtain some income without losing any of their current players, if any of their former players on whom they still have sell-on rights decides to change clubs this month.
In this regard, Mundo Deportivo reports that there are two such operations that can benefit Barcelona in January.
The first one is that of the Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza, who has been performing at a very high level this season, and has thus attracted the attention of some top European sides. RB Leipzig have already shown an interest in him, while Aston Villa has been the latest club to show an interest in him.
The Premier League side has already established first contacts with Celta Vigo for a potential move, and Unai Emery and Monchi, the Aston Villa Head Coach and Sporting Director, are both involved in this operation.
However, Celta want to renew his contract as they do not want to lose him for only €10 million, as half of his €20 million release clause amount is set to end up in Barcelona’s coffers, as they have a 50% sell-on right on the player.
Another player whose potential move can end up bringing some much-needed cash into the Catalan club’s coffers is the Las Palmas defender Mika Marmol. The Italian side Roma is particularly interested in him and has already made an offer of €7 million for him, as they see him as an ideal replacement for the unconvincing Mario Hermoso.
Barcelona also have a 50% share on any transfer fee paid for him and would receive €3.5 million if Roma’s offer is accepted.
For now, it remains to be seen how these operations develop in the coming days, but there is no doubt that the Blaugranes will be hoping to see these moves materialize to put some cash in their hands.
