Mamadou Loum Ndiaye's future looks set to unfold in Spain. The Senegalese midfielder is on the verge of joining Sporting Gijón, a second-division club, in this summer transfer window.
After spending ten years in Portugal, the former US Ouakam player is leaving the Lusitanian country for a new challenge with its neighbor, Spain. Everything is moving in the right direction for him to become a Sporting Gijón player, a club that finished eleventh in La Liga 2 last season.
Signed by SC Braga in July 2015, the 28-year-old spent three seasons with the B team before being promoted to the first team in July 2018.
The Dakar native then went on two loan spells with Moreirense and Porto, before being signed permanently by the Dragons. After two seasons in blue and white, he was loaned out three times—to Alavés in Spain, Reading in England, and Al-Raed in Saudi Arabia—before making a permanent move to another Portuguese club, Arouca.
The Senegal international (3 caps) played 22 matches in all competitions for Arouca. Under contract until June 2026, he is set to be sold to Sporting Gijón.
