"We're maybe the worst Manchester United team in history" - Amorim

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United are among those to watch in the finals days of the January transfer window as clubs in the Premier League and across the world look to wrap up deals before the deadline.

The Gunners are desperate to sign a striker but face competition from United over Sporting forward Viktor Gyokeres, while a move for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko looks unlikely this month despite being aware of a clause that allows the forward to leave the German club in 2025.

Elsewhere, Manchester City announced the signing of defender Vitor Reis and Chelsea could enter talks with Juventus for striker Dusan Vlahovic, with out-of-favour striker Christopher Nkunku set to leave this month.

Manchester United have opened talks with Lecce for defender Patrick Dorgu as Ruben Amorim prioritises signing a left back. But the club need to sell to buy, with Alejandro Garnacho and Antony set to leave.

Wolves insist Cunha is not for sale

An update on Matheus Cunha here, with Wolves “adamant” that he is not for sale, according to Sky Sports.

The club are said to be “relaxed” over the Brazilian’s contract situation – Cunha has two-and-a-half-years left on his current deal.

Wolves are under no financial pressure to sell, having made £90m last summer from the sales of Pedro Neto and Max Kilman, but “the message is clear from Wolves; he is not for sale,” adds Sky.

Previously, “an offer of around £60m was thought to be enough to tempt Wolves to sell”, though it is unknown if this is still the case.

Nottingham Forest are said to be ready to make a club-record bid in order to land the Brazilian, though elsewhere it’s been reported that Arsenal are the favourites for his signature.

Chelsea trio on the move?

A trio of Chelsea players could be headed for the exit before the window closes, according to the Daily Mail, with defender Renato Veiga, 21, hoping to join Juventus, midfielder Cesare Casadei drawing interest from Lazio and England defender Ben Chilwell a target for David Moyes and Everton.
