The first of two summer transfer deadlines is approaching fast as clubs scramble to get their business done early. Arsenal are still hunting for a statement striker signing as talks continue over Benjamin Sesko, with optimism that a deal can be struck soon. The Gunners may also yet to decide to swoop for Viktor Gyokeres and are also keen on the likes of Morgan Rogers and Rodrygo as they wait to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi.
Manchester United could now face competition for Bryan Mbeumo as Tottenham plan to appoint Brentford’s Thomas Frank as their new manager. A medical for Florian Wirtz at Liverpool is now said to be possible this week as a final bid is made to Bayer Leverkusen worth around £118million. Chelsea are planning an improved offer for Jamie Gittens and are also pushing to sign Mike Maignan before Tuesday night.
Manchester United are also being linked with Gianluigi Donnarumma, while Manchester City are clinching deals for Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed a decision over his future as Jobe Bellingham heads to Borussia Dortmund. Gianluigi Donnarumma has reportedly been talking up a potential transfer to Manchester United in private.
The Italian’s future at Paris Saint-Germain remains subject to uncertainty despite their remarkable treble success this season, with his current contract due to expire next summer and no agreement yet reached over an extension.
Donnarumma has a long list of suitors that is reported to include both Manchester clubs.
United are said to be seeking an upgrade on current No1 Andre Onana, with French outlet L’Equipe reporting that Donnarumma has been discussing a potential move to the Premier League while with his Azzurri team-mates on international duty.

Jobe Bellingham looks set to complete his transfer to Borussia Dortmund today.
The younger brother of Jude Bellingham is following in his sibling’s footsteps by heading to Signal Iduna Park after helping Sunderland to return to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs.
Dortmund were said over the weekend to have agreed a deal for the younger Bellingham worth an initial £28m, possibly rising to £32m with add-ons, which would make it a record transfer for both clubs.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 19-year-old will undergo a medical today before officially signing a five-year contract to head to the Bundesliga.

It seems that Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be leaving Al-Nassr this summer after all.
The Portuguese icon had appeared to confirm that his chapter with the Saudi Arabian club was “closed” after the end of the domestic season, linked with a quick move that would see him feature at the Club World Cup.
However, Ronaldo confirmed last week that he would not be involved at the upcoming tournament as speculation over his future continued to swirl.
Now the 40-year-old himself has revealed that he will be staying right where he is.
“My future? Basically nothing is going to change. Staying at Al-Nassr? Yeah,” he said in the mixed zone after leading Portugal to a thrilling penalty shootout win over rivals Spain in last night’s epic Nations League final in Munich.

As they prepare to table a final take-it-or-leave it offer for Florian Wirtz, Liverpool are also close to signing Milos Kerkez.
The Reds have already replaced the Real Madrid-bound Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right side of defence with Wirtz’s Bayer Leverkusen team-mate Jeremie Frimpong and are also determined to seal Andy Robertson’s long-term successor at left-back.
Liverpool have been in talks with Bournemouth for a while now regarding Kerkez, who is in demand after a fine season on the south coast.
Progress has seemed slow, but journalist Rudy Galetti now reports that a deal is close after final negotiations over the structure of the add-ons in the deal.
He says it will all be signed and a medical completed once those last details are ironed out.

Alongside Jamie Gittens, Chelsea are also moving for Mike Maignan before the first of two summer transfer deadlines on Tuesday night.
The Blues are in the market for another new goalkeeper as they look to move on from rumoured West Ham target Robert Sanchez as their No1.
Chelsea are known to have a strong interest in Maignan and approached AC Milan over the French international last week.
Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport claim that a bid has been made and that a deal worth around £15m is likely to be agreed, with Milan willing to cash in on a player who is entering the final year of his contract at the San Siro.
Maignan is said to favour a switch to Chelsea.

Chelsea are believed to be planning a new offer for Jamie Gittens.
The Blues opened talks with Borussia Dortmund last week over a deal for the England Under-21 winger.
Reports emerged over the weekend that Chelsea had agreed a seven-year contract with Gittens, but seen their opening bid worth £29.5m rebuffed by the Bundesliga giants.
The Daily Mail claim that an improved offer for the 20-year-old will now be made as Chelsea look to wrap up another deal before Tuesday evening’s pre-Club World Cup transfer deadline.
Dortmund are said to be demanding around £40m for Gittens, with 10 per cent of the sale owed to former club Manchester City.

A medical for Florian Wirtz at Liverpool is now considered “possible” this week, reports claim.
The Premier League champions have been in hot pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen’s star attacker for weeks now, but have seen a total of three bids for his services snubbed.
Liverpool are said to be preparing a fourth and final offer for Wirtz worth in the region of £118m.
Sky Germany report that things could now move “very quickly”, with a full agreement “very close” and a medical possible.
That will be music to the ears of every Liverpool fan.

Manchester United face their move for Bryan Mbeumo being hijacked by Tottenham.
The Red Devils are said to have tabled two bids so far for Brentford’s star attacker, the second worth more than £60m.
However, that deal could now come under threat despite suggestions that Mbeumo prefers United over rival suitors such as Newcastle and Arsenal.
The Daily Mirror reports that Thomas Frank has told Spurs to swoop for the Cameroon international as he prepares to replace the sacked Ange Postecoglou as their new manager.

Arsenal are “very positive” that they can now seal a deal for Benjamin Sesko, reports suggest.
The Gunners appear to have chosen the Slovenian international over Sporting Lisbon’s prolific Swede Viktor Gyokeres as their ideal summer statement striker signing.
Arsenal have been locked in talks with RB Leipzig over Sesko, but have seemingly yet to table an official bid for his services as new sporting director Andrea Berta continues to fully assess the situation.
According to Sky Germany though, Arsenal are very optimistic that a deal will be done with a new round of negotiations scheduled this week.
Mikel Arteta is said to be particularly keen on Sesko, who is available for between €80m-€100m.
